Notts man arrested in Marseille after European Championships football violence

A man from Nottinghamshire was among those arrested after violence marred England's first game in the European Championships in France.

Nottinghamshire Police have confirmed that a man from Worksop in his mid-20s was arrested in Marseille, where England kicked off their tournament against Russia.

The game was marred by violent clashes between England and Russia supporters in the city before kick-off. While Russian fans stormed the England section of the Stade Velodrome during the later stages of the match.

Police are not naming the Worksop man at this stage.
