The 101 call takers have relocated to a different building and are still receiving calls.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service are at the site as a precaution as the building alarm sounded, but there has been no fire.

A police spokesman said: “No one is injured and no other buildings are affected. We are working as quickly as possible to restore service.”

All 999 and 101 calls are usually taken by staff at the force’s Central Contact Management Centre.

If you have a general enquiry, contact the 101 number later in the day when normal service resumes. You call also visit www.derbyshirepolice.co.uk.
