No change to appearance of a historic pub, say its developers

Plans have been submitted to convert Blidworth’s White Lion pub into three terraced houses.

The site developer states in its outline plan that the appearance of the early 19th C building, situated on Main Street, will not be ‘radically’ affected by any alterations.

Each house will have two carparking spaces which will be accessed via a dropped kerb from the street.

Additions to the rear of the pub will face the Red Lion Lodge and carpark.

The planning document states the development is in keeping with current policy as there is a housing shortage in Blidworth.

Guidelines also encourage the use of previously-developed land to meet housing needs.

The plans propose to ensure carparking is sufficient to allow vehicles to turn, entering and leaving in forward gear. To view the plans visit www.newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk.
