In its application to Ashfield District Council, the company says the turbine would generate 500kw, enough to power 320 households.

The application includes associated infrastructure including a transformer, substation, crane hard standing, temporary construction are and an access track measuring 250m by 5m.

A community consultation exercise has been undertaken to inform local residents of the proposal with letters sent out to people living within 1km of the proposed site.

Letters objecting to the proposals have been on the grounds of potential noise and concerns about extra traffic.

In the company’s planning statement the turbine is considered to comply with planning policy in terms of visual amenity and noise.
