Madrid-born Omar was inspired to set-up Tapas Revolution to increase the quality of Spanish dining in the UK.

He added that he firmly believes his latest restaurant would be a valuable addition to the Sheffield restaurant scene.

He said: "In my hometown of Madrid, tapas is more than just food; sharing small plates at any time of the day is how we connect.

"My tapas bar is open everyday for coffee, a beer, lunch, dinner or a G&T.

"All our dishes are freshly prepared from scratch in our kitchen, everyday. We source the finest ingredients from artisan Spanish producers, following traditional recipes that I have been using all my life - this is very important to me and I think it makes all the difference."

The only items the restaurant doesn't prepare on site are the breads.

Omar was in Sheffield last night where he hosted a pop-up dinner for specially invited guests at the Tramshed on Chesterfield Road.

The event saw the chef serve up a number of dishes from the Tapas Revolution menu, including sharing plates of cured meats, cheeses, fish, and vegetables.

He also rustled up a speciality chicken paella.
