Two Annesley businesswomen are joining forces to launch a new salon which they hope will help breath new life into the village.
Boutique boss and footballer’s wife Kat Lichaj has forged a partnership with Kelly Barlow, who runs Porterhouse By Barlows, to launch the salon on Forest Road.
Kat, wife of Nottingham Forest player and USA international Eric Lichaj, says the duo decided to open the new salon next door to her fashion outlet Katwalk Kouture after the property became available.
KK Hair Beauty Bar will be officially opened with a launch party on Saturday, May 12
Kat said: “Kelly and I are trying to keep the street going and have decided to invest in this salon.
“We said let’s get together and make next door work as well.
“Both our names start with K so we went for the KK name.”
The building, formerly T Bird and Pink Ladies hair salon, is undergoing a complete makeover.
She said the salon would be different to any others in the area.
Kat, who has raised thousands of pounds for charity, said; “As well as hair, nails, tanning and make-up, the salon will double up as a venue for hen parties and bridal parties.
“There will be a licensed bar so we will be able to accommodate parties.
“And we can also offer catering , drawing on Kelly’s experience and resources, as they own Barlow’s Butchers and the Porterhouse
“If someone wants to treat their mum to a special gift for example, she can have afternoon tea, as well as having her hair and make-up done.”
Kelly and Kat have invited residents and potential customers to the launch party.
Kat said: “There will be lots of fun with a photo booth and a DJ.
“People will be able to come and hava a good look around the salon.
“We have gone for the top end with everything and people will be surprised at the standard of the equipment and services we will be offering.”
Former Next manager Kat married Eric in 2013 and started her clothing business at their home.
She has been busy expanding the boutique which she started in November 2016.
The shop sells ladies’ and children’s fashions.
