Ollerton and Boughton Town Council is celebrating the creation of a new play area and improvements at Yew Tree Road park.
As well as the play area it features a mixed use football and basketball area and a seated picnic area.
The Sita TRUST funding for the park worth £25,000 came thanks to the park being given protected through the Queen Elizabeth II Fields Challenge – which aimed to protect playing fields by the end of 2012 as a celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Karen Wakefield, Clerk to Ollerton Town Council, said: “This is excellent news for our town and we are grateful for the opportunity that SITA Trust has given the members of the town council.
“Our children will grow up safe in the knowledge that there will always be a green open space to relax and have fun.”
Mark Gordon, of SITA Trust, added “We are delighted to have been able to support this project.”
