NEW OLLERTON: Welcome winter boost for food bank
The Dukeries and District Food Bank was established through the Trussell Trust and is based at Ollerton Methodist Church on Forest Road.
It has come to the aid of more than 800 people since March 2013, with nine tons of food having been parcelled and distributed by a team of 38 volunteers.

“I am amazed how local people have supported the food bank,” said Lyn Matthews from The Dukeries and District Food Bank. “This is what it is about - local people supporting local people.”
Hilary Cheshire, company secretary of Robert Woodhead, who presented the cheque, added: “The company has recently returned to Edwinstowe and we are delighted to be part of the community here.
“We normally choose a charity every Christmas to support instead of sending Christmas cards. This year we chose the Dukeries and District Food Bank.”
