New night sky course at Sherwood Observatory
The non-accredited Night Sky course begins on Friday and runs for nine weeks.
It comprises of a series of astronomy lectures set at a basic level.

Hide AdEach session starts at 7.30pm and lasts until around 10pm at the Coxmoor Road observatory.
It costs £40 per adult and £20 for under 18s. Juniors under the age of 16 can only be accepted if accompanied by a parent or guardian who is enrolled on the course.

Sherwood Observatory was founded in the 1970s and is a registered charity. It is solely run by its members who are volunteers.
One of the observatory’s main aims is to educate the public about the night sky, and therefore contribute to the advancement of the science of astronomy.
It holds frequent public open evenings, organises private group visits and runs non-accredited courses.
