Residents in Bolsover town will get the chance to join in the jogging craze sweeping Bolsover District as a new jog group is being set up.
The new Jog Bolsover group will start on Tuesday 9th August and will be led by Jog Leader Darren Newton. It will start at 7pm from Castle Leisure Park, Carr Vale and cost just £1 for each session. The group is aimed at individuals new to jogging or may not have run for a long time and places do not have to be pre booked, just turn up on the evening.
Over the last 4 months 4 new groups have been established within the district. It now means that all towns in Bolsover district have at least one jog group operating in their area.
Bolsover District Council’s Cabinet Member for Social Inclusion, Coun Ann Syrett said: “Thanks to the staff and large number of local volunteers, we have seen a large increase in the formation of jog groups over the last few months. It really does go to show that creating the right environment can lead to hundreds of people taking up jogging and making use of the many trails and open spaces our District boasts. Jogging is a great way to keep fit and healthy whilst having fun with your family and friends, so why not come along and have a go.”
