The brand new family festival, Gloworm Festival was launched at Antenna this month.
The event had lots of entertainment going off throughout the evening with Darth Vader and his Stormtroopers making an appearance, live magic and even a puppet show as a taster for what will be happening at the main festival later in the year.
IKEA, who have recently come on board as headline sponsors of the event, came along to the event to discuss all the opportunities and ideas they have come up with to showcase their brand at the event.
Rebecca McGlone, one of the event organisers, said: “Nottingham is home to some of the best musicians and artists in the world.
“We are such a family friendly city with so much to offer that it seems crazy we don’t already have a family festival here.
“The Gloworm Festival will be such a brilliant event, and one that will only get bigger and better year after year.
“I, for one, am pretty excited about it.
“This is a real opportunity for families to play, have fun and enjoy good music together”.
The Gloworm festival is aimed at families with children of all ages with the intention to inspire the imaginations of its attendees, both young and old, and invite them to come and play in a warm, friendly and creative environment.
The main event will take place in August, 20 and 21 at Clumber Park in Worksop and be packed with entertainment for all the family.
Peppa Pig, Mr Bloom, Thomas the Tank Engine and Ben and Holly are just some of the star names that will be in attendance at the festival, along with a host of music acts including Toploader, most famous for their hit single Dancing in the Moonlight, and a DJ set from children’s TV double act, Dick and Dom.
White Post Farm, who are sponsoring the Great Outdoors Area, will also be recreating the farm on site and bringing down a whole host of animals for chilsdren to meet.
The event will also be supporting the charity School For Parents, where a percentage of the ticket sales will be going to the charity.
