The introduction of an electronic patient records system at King’s Mill has taken a step forward thanks to the completion of contract negotiations.

The hospital has signed a £4.3m five-year contract with Specialist Computer Centres (SCC), and their supplier McKesson, to implement the system.

The new system will benefit patients because it will capture information about their whole journey within the hospital allowing doctors, nurses and support staff to access information in one place.”

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s Paul O’Connor said: “This is a major milestone in our drive to continually improve the services we offer to both patients and staff.
