New domestic violence drive in Mansfield and Ashfield

Workers from IRIS will be educating staff and providing services from medical practices after it emerged that Mansfield and Ashfield has the highest reported cases of domestic abuse in Nottinghamshire.

The plan was revealed at a meeting of the Mansfield and Ashfield Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) on Thursday 8th November.

The meeting also heard that the CCG is developing more joined-up working practices, to ensure a better experience for patients.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr Amanda Sullivan from the CCG said: “It’s about making the whole system work better. People tell us the different teams they deal with don’t communicate effectively.”

The group also announced plans to trial a new text-messaging service to offer advice and monitoring for people with ongoing medical conditions.
