New deputies to represent Queen
The Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire has appointed eight new deputy lieutenants who will assist him in his role as representing HM The Queen in Nottinghamshire.
Dame Elizabeth Fradd, Michael Burrows, Susan Gorham, Edwin Maxwell, His Honour Michael Stokes, Mark Goldby, Peter Johal and Robin Wilson have been appointed to deputise for Lord-Lieutenant Sir John Peace at engagements, when required.
Dame Elizabeth Fradd is an independent health service adviser from Tollerton, with extensive national and local experience of delivering complex audit and inspection programmes.
Michael Burrows ,of West Bridgford, retired as chief executive of Nottinghamshire County Council in June 2015 after seven years in the role and 22 years as a senior manager in the public sector.
Susan Gorham, of Epperstone, is the Headmistress at Nottingham Girls’ High School.
Edwin Maxwell, of Nottingham, is managing director of EAM Building Group – a family business he started in 198.
His Honour Judge Michael Stokes QC has been the Recorder of Nottingham since 2007, the highest appointed legal officer of the Crown in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
Mark Goldby, of Lambley, is managing director of SMS Electronics Ltd having formed the company in 2002 following a management buy out from Siemens.
Mohinder ‘Peter’ Singh Johal moved to England from India in 1956 and has lived in Nottingham since the age of eight.
After training at Raleigh Industries, Peter developed the family’s small wholesale business into one of the country’s largest leisurewear manufacturer and subsequently a nationwide clothing retailer.
Robin Wilson, of Mansfield, is a retired solicitor and was provincial grand master for Nottinghamshire Freemasons from 2005 to 2015.
Sir John Peace said: “The new deputy lieutenants are from a wide variety of backgrounds and their skills and experience will stand them in good stead when representing H.M. The Queen in Nottinghamshire. I congratulate them on being awarded this honour and I look forward to working with them.”
