Framework’s annual Big Snore should have taken place on 30th January at Mansfield Town’s One Call Stadium, but was called off due to snow, ice and sub-zero temperatures.

More than 180 people were due to take part in the event, which raises money and awareness of the plight of homeless people.

Now Framework has announced that the re-arranged Big Snore will take place from 8.30pm on 7th March until 7am the following day.

The event will be sponsored by Western Power Distribution and includes entertainment, an our box factor competition and a light supper served in the Kevin Bird Suite.

Louise Darby, fundraising manager of Framework, said: “Thank you to all participants, sponsors and for the continued support of all those who are making the Big Snore happen.

“The event provides funding for a crucial ‘resettlement’ service in Mansfield. Sponsorship raised will directly aid individuals who are homeless and ready to be supported towards their own independence.

“Currently we have 10 individuals accepted the waiting list for our Sherwood Street Accommodation Service, with another 19 people in assessment to join the list.

We have a desperate and worsening situation in Mansfield with people coming to Sherwood Street and asking for help every single day. The Big Snore is a vital part of fundraising to act against this terrible situation.”
