new coffee shop-jd

Cappuccino, mocha or latte- whatever way you take your coffee you can now take it in style at Hucknall’s newest coffee shop.

The Vanilla Coffee House is tucked away on Titchfield Terrace off the High Street in the same premises that previously housed Rusty’s Coffee and Collectibles for almost two years.

New owner Helen Plumb has taken the shop and refurbished it into a bright, light welcoming meeting place where customers are treated like guests.

“I originally came to Rusty’s to buy the equipment and saw the place and thought I could make a go of it here,” said Helen who hails from Chesterfield. “I worked as a retail manager but this is something I always wanted to do.”

As well as hot and cold drinks, Helen also serves soup, toasties, cakes, sandwiches and baguettes including breakfast specials and bacon butties.

“Even though I have no connections with Hucknall, everybody has been really friendly and people just drop by and have a chat,” added Helen.

“Already I have regulars coming in and I have started a Natter Morning on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 10am. “This gives customers who may be on their own to interact and chat to each other.”
