New acting chairman for East Midlands Ambulance Service
EMAS chairman Jon Towler has resigned after two-and-a-half years serving the role.
Pauline Tagg said: “Jon has worked hard with the interests of frontline staff and services at his heart. I’m pleased to be taking on the role of chair working with our dedicated staff to deliver improvements and give the very best clinical care to people in the East Midlands.”

Hide AdPauline has a clinical background having started her career as a nurse.
She previously held the post of director of nursing at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and joined the EMAS board in 2011 as a non-executive director. She was awarded the MBE in 2009 for services to Healthcare in Leicester.
In particular, she was successful in reducing healthcare acquired infections in the county’s hospitals. Before joining the EMAS board she was also a non-executive director for Leicestershire and Rutland Primary Care Trust from 2009.
Non-executive appointments to NHS Trusts made by the NHS TDA are subject to the code of practice of the Commissioner for Public Appointments.
Pauline has been appointed from 11th November for up to six months and is entitled to receive a remuneration of £21,105 per annum.
