Detctive Constable Rachael Shooter said: “I’m pleased that this case has finally been brought to a close with a positive result for our victim who has shown immense bravery throughout.

“Hastie has put her and the witnesses through two trials, pleading guilty to the final offences only days before the second trial in July.

“He is a nasty and manipulative individual and I hope the victim is now able to put this ordeal behind her.

“No person should ever be treated in this way, and we want victims to know that they don’t have to suffer in silence.”
