Murder Update: Police given an extra 36 hours

POLICE were yesterday (Sunday) given a further 36 hours to question a man arrested over a murder on Sutton’s Leamington estate.

Officers arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of committing a murder on Friday night after a man was stabbed to death.

The 23-year-old was arrested after officers attended Jephson Road following reports of a serious incident at around 11.30pm.

They found three men with injuries believed to have been caused by a knife or bladed instrument and a 27-year-old man was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

Another man is in a serious condition, while the third man had superficial wounds.

The suspect was arrested shortly afterwards and has been taken into custody.

Police are not looking for anybody else in connection with this incident.
