Detectives believe the weapon is a carving-type knife and have asked local residents and dog walkers to check their gardens, hedgerows and paths.

Anyone who finds a knife of that description should contact police on 101.

Leon Lockhart, 31, and Michaela Griffiths, 24, from South Normanton, were charged with murdering the 32-year-old yesterday.

They will appear before magistrates in Chesterfield this morning.
