Murder investigation launched following Nottinghamshire stabbing

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following a stabbing in Nottinghamshire.

Police were called to Commercial Road, Bulwell at around 3.25am today (Friday, June 29) where 38-year-old man had suffered stab wounds. He was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre but later died from his injuries.

He is yet to be formally identified.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of GBH and has now been rearrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody.

Neighbourhood Inspector Christine Busuttil said: "Detectives from the East Midlands Major Crime Unit are now investigating the circumstances around the incident and are following up on several lines of enquiry.

"We understand that a party taking place nearby involved a group of teenagers, some of who may have seen what happened which would have been incredibly distressing for them. We want to hear from anyone who has any information so please call us on 101.

"We have also put additional patrols in the area so if you have any concerns or want to speak to us please approach our officers."
