Mum over limit when she crashed with kids in back
Claire Taylor-Merritt, 42, of Fourth Avenue, admitted driving with 98 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, when the legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Marjorie Kirkham–Smith, prosecuting, told the court Taylor-Merritt had driven into the back of a vehicle on the A614 near Ollerton on March 12 at 2.25pm.

Hide AdThe court heard Taylor-Merritt had consumed a large amount of wine the night before, after receiving ‘difficult family news.’
District Judge Jonathan Taaffe said: “You put your life at risk and more importantly the lives of other people and two young children.”
She was disqualified for 30 months and placed on a 7pm to 6am curfew for six weeks. She must also pay £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
