MP greets measures to help fight crime in Mansfield

Mansfield's MP, who hails from a family of police officers, has welcomed new measures to help fight crime in the town and the rest of the county.

Ben Bradley took part in a House Of Commons debate on police funding and greeted the 2.4 per cent direct resource increase that the Nottinghamshire force is to receive in 2018/19.

“As the son of a police officer, I am incredibly proud of the work the police do,” said Mr Bradley. “While we need to do more to bring down levels of anti-social behaviour, theft and violent crime in Mansfield, I also proud of the government’s record on crime.

“The government has protected spending in real terms to ensure the police have the resources they need to keep us all safe.”

Mr Bradley also welcomed the drive to recruit more police officers in Nottinghamshire.
