Mountain rescue teams go to the aid of injured cyclist

Mountain rescue teams were called to rescue a woman who was injured after she fell from her mountain bike.

The Buxton and Edale Mountain rescue teams Teams were called to Cave Dale, Castleton on Saturday afternoon following reports of a fallen female mountain biker.

The Edale Team were close by, covering a local mountain challenge and were able to respond quickly to the injured biker, who had sustained a painful dislocation to her right shoulder, they treated her on site with pain relief and provided protection from the wet weather.

Buxton Team members arrived and assisted with the casualty evacuation on a mountain rescue stretcher down a very wet and slippery dale to Castleton Village, to await a land ambulance.

She was then transferred to the Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport for further assessment and treatment.
