The work on St Peter’s Way is causing major tailbacks and is expected to continue until February 5.

Dan Westwell contacted the Chad to complain about the work, which is being undertaken by Nottinghamshire County Council and involves replacing old lamp columns with new ones.

He said: “It made my wife late for work as no-one could get through the lights and on the way back I couldn’t turn into Bath Lane as the tailbacks were blocking that area as well.

“The bit on the photos from Bath Lane down to the lights had got two lanes closed off yet there was absolutely nothing or no one doing anything in it, it was completely un-neccesary.”
