Schoolchildren who pledged to improve the area outside their Kirkby school have won a prestigious award.
Morven Park Primary School took part in the “I Pledge to Keep On Track” Youth Crime Prevention Programme.
It was organised in association with Nottinghamshire County Council’s Community Safety team, Nottinghamshire Police and the National Centre for Citizenship and the Law (NCCL).
Plans for the vandalised area included planting flowers, installing seating, designing and installing a pond and cultivating a vegetable plot.
The school received £200 towards the project, which is already well underway.
