An annual memorial match for Lee Henstock, who passed away in 2006, has raised £600 for Stubbin Wood School. Jarrod Smith posted on Facebook: “This game, played every year, keeps the Lee Henstock name remembered and strong in Shirebrook. I know all Shirebrook Rangers players look forward to playing in this game.
“I would personally like to thank Russ, Julie and family, all members of Shirebrook Rangers Football Club, old and new, Shirebrook Town FC, all the referees and his assistants and all that have donated and attended these games.
“But the biggest thanks goes out to all Shirebrook Rangers players, both boys and girls, that have played in this game over the 13 years and playing with pride and respect that this game deserves.”
