A MEMORIAL event is being held to remember a former Mansfield Woodhouse councillor who died shortly after being re-elected.
Coun Dorothy Beastall died in May within hours of being re-elected to her seat on Mansfield District Council, where she represented the Robin Hood Ward for Labour.
A memorial bench on the grassy area outside the Manor Road Community Centre is now set to be dedicated to her memory.
She was a frequent visitor to the centre, often going there to play bingo.
Friends of Coun Beastall will be gathering at the centre on 20th August at midday to see the unveiling of the bench.
People are also being asked to bring a picnic, as they will be having a cup of tea and sandwich in her honour.
