Councillor Jason Zadrozny, Ashfield District Council leader, met Richard Jackson and Julie Sisson, manager and assistant manager, respectively, of Asda in Sutton, which employs 450 people.

Coun Zadrozny, pictured left, said: “Like many traders in Sutton, they are having to deal with users of spice and other drugs. They have been reporting users to the police and working to get to grips with this problem. The aim was to put into place a plan to work with the store and police to clean up our streets.”

Mr Jackson said: “I welcomed the improved CCTV systems and mental health workers who are trying to intervene.”
