Cowboy boots, Stetson hats, black ties and shoulder pads will be in abundance during a colourful display later this month when Mansfield District Council hosts its 2012 Chairman and Mayor’s Ball in aid of Framework.
Mayor Tony Egginton and Chairman Coun Sally Higgins have agreed to donate the proceeds of this year’s Oil Baron themed event to Framework’s £30,000 Mansfield Rough Sleeper Recovery Appeal.
Guests, dressed in Dallas inspired attire, will party the night away on Friday 23rd March at the Mansfield Civic Centre between 7.30pm and 12.30am.
Coun Higgins said: “I am a great supporter of Framework. It provides a service that is desperately needed in the current economic climate in the town and I am just happy to help in any way I can.
“I can’t take credit for the oil baron theme but I know it will be great fun on the night.”
Live entertainment will be provided, along with a special message from Framework. Tickets are £29 each and are available from the council.
All the money raised will go towards Framework’s Rough Sleeper Recovery Appeal, which will fund support workers to help residents of its Shewrood Street accommodation move on to independent living– allowing more rough sleepers to move in and off the streets.
Chris Senior, head of Fundraising and Communications at Framework, said: “We are extremely thankful for the support of Mansfield District Council and look forward to what promises to be a very fun night indeed. Homelessness is a serious problem in Mansfield and we are determined to continue our fight against it.”
