A team of masons donned walking boots and reached for the stars to help raise money for John Eastwood Hospice.

From Edwinstowe Masonic Lodge, John Stone, Tim Jarvis, David Peet and his wife Michelle took on the Three-Peak Yorkshire Challenge, climbing the county’s three highest points.

They completed the tough task 45 minutes quicker than the expected time of 12 hours.

They recently handed over the money raised, which came to £1,854.

A spokesman said: “It was a good amount and the hospice were very grateful for the money.

“There’s no statutory money for the hospice so they rely on donations.”
