Mansfield woman appears before magistrates over Emiel’s murder
Mansfield woman Michelle Swift (48) appeared before town magistrates this morning charged with the murder of Emiel Blankert.
Mr Blankert (48), who is believed to have lived in a flat above a parade of shops on Ladybrook Place, died on 13th December, having been admitted to hospital four days earlier.
A Home Office post-mortem examination confirmed he suffered serious injuries as a result of a sustained assault.
Ms Swift, who was tearful throughout the short hearing, spoke only to confirm her name.
She is due before Nottingham Crown Court tomorrow morning.
