One of the team took it upon herself to run Zumba classes for family, friends and colleagues; while another took on Mount Snowdon with her husband and a friend. The efforts of the team at the store, which celebrates its 21st anniversary this month, have raised £624 which will go towards helping disadvantaged, ill and life-limited children across the UK.

The 13-strong team, at 4 Seasons Centre, Mansfield, has a combined experience of some 206 years in travel. Its longest server, Ruth Kelly, has been in the industry for some 32 years, closely followed by Anne Johns, with 30 years’ experience.

The Zumba classes were organised and run by Foreign Exchange Adviser, Kelly Keating; with the team of three taking on Mount Snowdon led by Travel Advisor, Karen Widdowson.

Christie Fulleylove, store manager, said: “We like to do our bit for charity whenever we can, and in this our special 21st Anniversary year we wanted to make a real effort to support the great work of the Thomas Cook Children’s Charity.

“The team have done brilliantly, with some great ideas for fundraising and a lot of hard work. We’ve raised some vital funds and we’ve had some fun along the way, so we’d like to thank everyone who donated or got involved for their support.”

Established in 2009, the Thomas Cook Children’s charity has to date raised more than £3 million to help young people or organisations working with young people. Thomas Cook employees and customers are encouraged to nominate local causes that work to improve the lives of young people and also individuals to receive funds. The Charity provides grants to help children who are disabled, in hospital, disadvantaged and those who are life-limited in hospices.
