Mansfield train station to get new cycle hub
East Midlands Trains has been awarded £1.441m to pay for cycle schemes at 16 different stations across the network.

Hide AdThe money will pay for a range of facilities including additional racking, cycle hire and new cycle hubs.
David Oldershaw, Area Station Manager, Leicestershire, said, “This is fantastic news for cyclists using our network. Over the last 18 months we have installed more spaces than ever before and this trend is set to continue with this investment. More than £1.4 million will be invested in facilities at 15 stations providing over a thousand more spaces for cyclists.
“Good cycle facilities are vital for people choosing to travel to our stations by bike, this investment means that even more passengers will be-able to cycle to our stations with confidence that their bikes will be safe, secure and protected until they return.”

Hide AdThe funding will be spent on additional cycle spaces, a protective cover for cycles and CCTV security at Mansfield, Mansfield Woodhouse, Alfreton, Attenborough, Burton on Trent, Corby, Kettering, Market Harborough, Melton Mowbray, Newark Castle, Skegness and Wellingborough stations.
Sheffield station will house an additional 200 spaces.
