Mansfield teenager appears in court charged with two robberies

A teenager has appeared in court charged in connection with two robberies in Mansfield.

Darren Mayes, 19, of Noel Street, Mansfield, is charged with two counts of robbery, one count of possession of cannabis and two counts of possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply.

The robbery charges relate to reported incidents at properties in Layton Burroughs, Mansfield, at the start of October.

Mayes appeared at Mansfield magistrates' court on Wednesday.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday, December 19. 

Three other people have also been charged with robbery in relation to one of the incidents in Layton Burroughs. They are Leeie Duffield, 21, of Lindley Street, Mansfield, Joshua Shaw, 25, of Hillcote Drive, Clipstone, and a 15-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons.

They have all been remanded in custody to appear for trial at Nottingham Crown Court next April.
