Mansfield District Council said controlled waste from the found behind one of the units in hermitage lane which had not been disposed of properly. A deposit found at the rear GS Prince on Hermitage Lane was investigated by a neighbourhood warden in August and the owner of Black Anchor Tattoo shop could not explain how the waste got there and confirmed that he did not have a trade waste contract in place.

As well a fine of £600, he was also ordered to pay legal costs of £285, community safety costs of £163.43 and a victim surcharge of £60, said the Council.

Portfolio Holder for Public Protection Cllr Mick Barton said: "All businesses must be signed up to a proper trade waste service and this is something the council does regularly check up on.

"Anyone found without a contract in place is likely to face a prosecution. The council does offer a good trade waste service which has a variety of options suitable for all sizes of business."
