A Mansfield school has been closed today after a water pipe burst.

Students at The Beech Academy on Fairholme Drive were accommodated on a temporary basis at the schools Westfield Site, on Westfield Lane,.

A statement from the school said: "The main site will be closed today to pupils due to a burst water pipe. If pupils do come to school they will be accommodated on a temporary basis at the Westfield Site.

"Sorry for any inconvenience caused."

A spokeswoman at the school has said the burst pipe has been fixed.

She said: "The school will be open tomorrow."
