Mansfield murder investigation: Post-mortem shows victim died from head injury

A POST-MORTEM examination has revealed that a Forest Town man who was the victim of a serious assault in Mansfield this weekend died from a head injury.

Jonathan Alun Turner died in hospital on Sunday morning (8th May) with his parents by his side.

The 27-year-old was taken to hospital after he was assaulted outside The Social pub, on Stockwell Gate, shortly before 4am on Saturday.

Three men, aged 22, were arrested in connection with the incident.

One of the men has since been released without charge. The other two remain in custody today for questioning after police were granted a warrant for further detention.
