Ruth Snodin, prosecuting, said the amount was consistent with personal use, and he had a previous conviction for possessing and supplying the Class C drug from 2006.

Sarah Neale, mitigating, said Cocker had argued with his girlfriend and had collected the bag from her home, before going to the pub.

He hid the bag behind a wall while he went inside and was arrested when he came out for a cigarette, she said.

He was currently off work with a shoulder injury.

Cocker, 36, of Longstone Way, admitted the offence on Wednesday.

Mansfield magistrates fined him £120 and ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
