A man who raped and sexually assaulted a woman in Mansfield has been jailed.
Stephen Evans, 37, was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday after being found guilty of two counts of rape and one sexual assault following a trial.
Evans attacked the woman at his home in Forest Road, Mansfield, despite her asking him to stop.
He denied the offences all along saying it was consensual.
Evans has been jailed for up to five years.
Detective Constable Dave Nicks, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "It's atrocious that someone would think they have any right to do this to another human being.
"We're pleased with the sentencing and would like to thank the victim for her bravery in telling us what happened and seeing the case through trial.
"We hope that she'll be able to move on from this horrific ordeal and would like to remind people that sexual violence is not acceptable and will not be tolerated in Nottinghamshire."
