A Mansfield man has described his joy at being reunited with his daughter after the Manchester Terror Attack on Monday evening.

Twenty-two people have been killed and 64 injured after suspected suicide bomber, 22-year-old Salman Abedi, detonated a home-made device at Manchester Arena.

Nick Haywood was waiting outside the arena for daughter Caitlin, 16, when he heard the bomb go off.

Racing into the venue, the 46-year-old said he felt overwhelming relief when he saw her through the crowds.

He told the Daily Mail: "'It was like she was almost born again.

"It was the best moment of my life all over again.'

Mr Haywood described seeing other parents 'just hugging the hell out of their kids' as they were reunited amid the carnage, but added: 'I can't imagine what parents must be going through when they haven't found their child yet.'
