Mansfield launch party for the Tour of Britain is today

The second stage of the Mansfield Summer Festival is going ahead today.

Today (Wednesday, August 9), celebrations will be held ahead of the fourth stage of the OVO Energy Tour of Britain 2017 cycling race, which is coming to Mansfield on September 6.

The festival is from 10am to 3pm at King George V Park, Mansfield.

At the cycling themed festival you are encouraged to bring your bike, free bike services will be provided and cycling competitions will be held.

Craft stalls will also be at the park, where you can make a shaker to bring along to the tour of Britain as they make their way though Mansfield.

Dogs are welcome and a dog handler from Guide Dogs for the Blind Association will be giving a demonstration.

Pony rides, face painting and a climbing wall will also be at the park.

Most activities are free but some will require a small donation.

There will also be food and drink including The Rustic Crust pizza oven, CoffeePod and Regal Refreshments burger van and ice creams.

Parking on site will be limited.
