The programme, which is described as following ‘the action-packed life, on and off the ice, of a group of determined young skaters’, follows the pair to their first dance competition of the season - which they won.

Joanne Tarry, Josh’s mum, said: “It was so nice for CBBC to come and see how great they are.

“It makes me really proud.”

The Joseph Whitaker schoolboy started ice dancing when he was just ten and has been dancing with Ellie for more than three years.

But the programme also follows Josh’s story in making a decision between ice dance and his other hobby, ballet.

He trains on the ice from 6am most mornings and does ballet three times a week - but his life is so hectic that he has to choose one or the other eventually.

The camera crew followed him down to London to look at a dance school, where he could go after his GCSE’s.

But despite the programmes efforts, Josh says he still hasn’t made a decision.

The whole series is based at the National Ice Centre in Nottingham, where Jellie train.

It also showcases a diverse range of different skating sports, such as ice hockey, speed skating and figure skating.

Mrs Tarry said: “I’m quite excited for all of the children to be seen.

“We will get to see how much hard work goes in and how much they put into their training.

“It was all so hectic - but totally worth it.”
