Mansfield garden party raises £475 for Chad’s MRI Scanner Appeal

DENISE Starkey, owner of Mansfield business Gracegentle Ltd, is pictured presenting a donation of £475 with mum Liz Cooper to Sarah Sentence, on behalf of Chad’s MRI Scanner Appeal.

Caring Denise threw open her home for a special garden party to raise funds for our life-changing appeal as part of her efforts to give something back to King’s Mill Hospital.

The event featured face-painting, sweet stalls, raffle prizes and stalls from a variety of local businesses, who donated a percentage of their profits to the MRI fund.

Speaking after the event Denise said: “The event went very well and the generosity of people who came was overwhelming. There was a steady stream of people coming throughout the whole day and I am very happy with the total we raised.”

Denise wanted to say a special thanks to the hospital, who she credits with saving her life more than 20 years ago after she underwent an emergency operation after she contracted blood poisoning from a burst appendix.

Said Denise: “I went to my doctors and was sent straight up to King’s Mill Hospital where they operated on me. They saved my life and I want to say thankyou to them.

“I support the hospital through and through. I have always been involved in hospital-related charities and am delighted to be supporting the MRI appeal.”
