To celebrate 50 years in business, Mansfield Garage Doors held a competition to win a new garage door from Garador.

The lucky winners, Colin 61, and Jackie Clarke 56, from Mansfield, penned a poem that made staff at Mansfield Garage Doors smile.

The company invited Colin, a taxi driver, and Jackie, a transport assistant, into their showroom to give them the good news.

Colin said: “I’ve been waiting 28 years for this, because my garage doors just about had it, it’s been repaired that many times.

“I can honestly say i’m over the moon I've won this prize.

Sue Cook, from Mansfield garage Doors said: “We’re delighted that Colin has won our super competition to celebrate our 50 years in business.

“Congratulations Colin, we’re absolutely delighted.”

Colin and Jackie's poem read:

"Here’s our garage, we call it Fred,

And because of what’s in it, it thinks it’s a shed,

No cars or motorbikes has it seen, But lawnmowers and barbecues and a washing machine,

Here it’s stood for 40 years and now the time has took its toll, The door no longer smoothly glides, but stays ajar like an open goal,

You have to open it with great care, Because like a trap it will ensnare,

It jumps off its rails and crashes down,

It hits my head and makes me frown,

I can’t take this pain and anguish no more, I really need a new garage door!"
