VOLUNTEERS at Mansfield Fire Museum have received an award for their dedication to restoring some priceless oil paintings at the tourist venue.
Secretary Terry Spalding, chairman Paul Davidson and treasurer Marlene Spalding received a Local Improvement Scheme award from Nottinghamshire County Council.
Terry applied to the scheme for funding to restore four priceless oil paintings from The Merryweather Collection.
Terry said: “I’m delighted that the work that goes on here has been recognised and we are all very proud of the collection we have built up.
“The museum is a huge attraction for fire memorabilia enthusiasts both in and outside the county and we are constantly developing and adding new exhibits.”
