Mansfield ‘clown’ sparks social media circus
Police have played down reports of a mysterious clown ‘spotted’ lurking on the streets of Mansfield on Monday night.
The ‘sightings’ sent social media sites into meltdown, while the above photo appeared on Facebook as rumours swept cyberspace about its appearance.
Yesterday a Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said the force had received no calls about the clown but urged anyone who had seen anything suspicious to contact 101.
