Mansfield chef launches Christmas Dinner in a cob - and it's on sale now

The burger consists of minced turkey breast, with sage and onion stuffing, crispy bacon, sausage, homemade cranberry, red onion and parsley relish served in a brioche bun.

The bun, which was launched yesterday, is just £5.

Simon King, aged 31, runs the Cater King food van on Forest Hill with his wife, Stacey King.

He said: "I fancied doing something different, I'm a chef so I like to play around with ingredients.

"The van is not ideal for a full roast turkey, so this was the best option for something Christmassy."

The ingredients are sourced from Bowring Butchers, so you can enjoy the cob knowing you are supporting local businesses.

Simon has worked at The Derbyshire Hotel, Kelham Hall and Nottingham Forest Football Club amongst other places, before opening Cater King.

Cater King is also home to the famous 52 item King’s Banquet Box Breakfast, served in a pizza box.

Cater King, formerly known as Snafflez ,is now open six days a week, closing Tuesday, and will prepare and sell a wide range of breakfast and lunch dishes all made with the finest locally sourced ingredients.

Cater King are also on Just Eat, if you want your Christmas dinner on a bun delivered.

If the breakfast box or Christmas cob doesn’t take your fancy, Cater King also offer gourmet burgers in brioche buns, jacket potatoes , lunch specials and homemade sausage rolls and pastries.
