Mansfield celebrates sporting heritage

Mansfield Business Improvement District (BID) successfully lobbied, with the Town Team, to bring National Sporting Heritage Day activities to the town centre.

The day is an opportunity for sporting heritage to be celebrated.

Sarah Nelson, BID manager, said: “Come along and watch or join in the fun from 12pm to 3pm at Mansfield Market Place and Beales Department Store on Stockwell Gate.

“There will be historical sporting activities, stalls, fencing Mansfield Town FC football, face painting, prize trials, galleries and much more including wheelchair basketball. We have some great sports clubs in Mansfield, and in Ashfield too, and with some fantastic Olympians and Paralympians from the area, we should be celebrating sport.”
