Town centre businesses in Mansfield have had their dedication to customer service recognised at a prestigious awards evening.

In an initiative organised and hosted by the Mansfield Business Improvement District (BID), more than 30 participating businesses were assessed by an independent mystery shopper.

Assessors then ranked businesses according to a criteria, and they were given gold, silver and bronze awards.

All participating businesses were given the opportunity to have a report about how they had done, with advice on how to improve on what they were doing.

Five firms also won an outstanding ranking, recognising their contribution to delivering high standards of customer service. These were I Do Bridal, Hops in a Bottle, Boots, Glazey Place and FA Henshaw.

BID manager Sarah Nelson said: “It’s clear that Mansfield town centre has a number of terrific businesses who know how to look after their customers.

“This whole initiative is about celebrating excellence and giving businesses a useful tool that will help them to improve what they do.”

Angela Parker-Hurst, who launched ‘I Do Bridal’ just over eight months ago, said: “I was shocked. I was so pleased to have got gold in the first place. To get an outstanding award was so emotional. I am so proud of everyone.”

The awards event took place in the auditorium at Mansfield Library.
